Breaking News: Gunmen Abduct 2 Teachers In Edo, Demand N15m Ransom

Gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers on Monday kidnapped two teachers at Obi Camp Primary School, Avbiosi Community in Owan West local government area of Edo State.

The armed men were said to have stormed the school about 10:30am and ordered six teachers in the school to follow them amid heavy sporadic shooting.

It was gathered that three of the teachers graciously escaped thereafter as another was rescued at night by police and local hunters.

A female teacher identified as  Mrs. Esther Alabi and one Dada Okun were identified as the victims, still in the kidnappers’ den. It was learnt that the gunmen had initially demanded N1 million but suddenly increase it to N15 million ransom on them.

The  Chairman of the council, Mr. Frank Ilaboya who spoke through his media aide, Mr Hassan Otinau said efforts were being made to rescue the female teachers soon.

The media aide to the local government council,  Mr. Hassan Otinau, said “We will step up the search party this morning and no stone will be left unturned until the victim is rescued unhurt.

” Last night, the kidnappers made contact with the family and I personally spoke with Mrs Alabi and urged her to be in good spirit that help was near,” Mr Ilaboya stated.

Contacted through SMS, the Public Relations Officer for Edo Police Command DSP Chidi Nwabuzor replied ” Ok, I am with CP.
He had yet to respond further at press time.
