Breaking News: Why, How I Murdered My 3 In-laws, Suspect Paints Grim Picture Of Crime

Forty four year-old suspect has confessed to the gruesome murder of a woman, her daughter a nursing mother, and her six months old baby boy at Iguadolor Community in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

The man, Mr. Edoghogho Omoregbe was arrested by police following a tip-off on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

He was among 60 suspected criminals paraded by the Commissioner of Police CP DanMallam Mohammed at Edo State Police Command Headquarters in Benin City, today September 20, 2019.

Narrating how and why he committed the barbaric act, Mr. Edoghogho Omoregbe told journalists that the victims Mrs. Alice Monday Omorogbe, 52, was his mother-in-law, her daughter Mrs. Blessing Monday Efe, 25 his sister-in-law and her six months old baby, his brother-in-law.

He claimed to had on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 about 8pm invaded their residence at Iguadolor Community and hacked them to death with his razor-sharped machete.

The suspect alleged that his in-law’s undue interferance in his matrimonial affairs had led to the unresolved dispute between him and his wife.

He further accused his late In-laws of hiding his wife and new born baby from him after a minor quarrel over water in his home.

“I asked my sister-in-law Blessing to please show me where my wife and baby were. For two months running I have not seen them. She gripped and torn my shirt.

“My wife, Mr. Joy Oghogho has six children for me……they did not want me to see them again,” Mr. Oghogho Omoregbe stated.


He however appealed for forgiveness for killing the six months old baby whom he claimed was accidentally macheted during the operation.

CP DanMallam Mohammed assured that while the command had prioritized proactive policing no crime reported to had been committed would go unresolved and justice served in the state, under his watch.
It would be recalled that the deputy Odionwere (Assistant village head) of Iguadolor Community, Pa, Iguma Amasowomwan was at the wake of the murder arrested over the killings.

Also, the Okaighele (youths leader) of the community one Mr. Perrick Egbon was alleged of complicity in the brutal murder.

Perrick Egbon had during a telephone chat with our reporter denied the allegations and appealed to the police and relevant authorities to unravel and prosecute the perpetrators.
