Benin Royal Family Members In North America Converge In Houston, Texas

Members of the Benin Royal Family in North America will converge in Houston Texas, the United States of America for their annual reunion from Friday August 2 to 4, 2019. The event will be presided over by Prince Ademola Iyi Eweka, Chairman of the organization.

Family members from various parts of the country are expected to attend the event which takes place at the Hilton Hotel, located on 9999 Westheimer Road Houston, Texas 77042.

In a statement he issued in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, the Secretary of the Benin Royal Family in North America, Prince Larry Eweka said the purpose of the reunion was to straighten the family love and bond by creating a forum for meeting, familiarization and interaction with other family members.

According to him, the reunion will also provide family members the opportunity to discuss issues affecting them, with a view to building on their support system and contributing to the development of their homeland of Benin Kingdom, in particular and Edo State in general.

The reunion, he added will also witness the promotion of the ancient Benin Kingdom, its rich and enviable cultural heritage, with various cultural displays, history lessons, promotion and  emphasis on the teaching and sustenance of the Edo language.

In the statement, Prince Larry Eweka released the following program of event:

FRIDAY – August 2, 2019

* At 6pm: Arrival of Guests (Meet and Greet by Family Members). This will take place at the Hospitality Room 2.

SATURDAY- August 3rd, 2019

* At 11.00 am. Family Members will converge at the Picnic Ground.

GALA NIGHT (M/C LARRY EWEKA)

* 7pm: Arrival of Guests to the Gala Night.

* Recognition of some members of the Royal Family.

*Opening Prayer and Breaking of the Kolanut by the Odion Egbe in North America, Prince Ademola Iyi Eweka.

* Opening Dance by Prince Ademola Iyi Eweka and Princess Ehi Rose Amadasu with other members of the Royal Family.

* General Dance

* Refreshment

* Comedy (Reenactment of past events) Cultural Display.

* Vote of Thanks by Princess Esohe Edomioya and Prince Joseph Ereyi.
