Oba Of Benin Donates N1million To National Association Of Resident Doctors

Oba Ewuare II of the Great Benin Kingdom has announced a donation of one million naira to the National Association of Resident Doctors to enable them host a successful conference in Benin City.

The Oba made the donation when members of the Association led by its President, Dr. Olusegun Olaopa paid him a courtesy visit in his Palace during the week.

Dr. Olaopa had earlier informed His Royal Majesty about their National Conference holding in Benin City which will provide opportunity to discuss and advocate for better condition of service for residents doctors and patients in Teaching Hospital in Nigeria.

He pointed out that Residents Doctors and their practice are affected by government policies. Dr. Olaopa requested for prayers and support from the Oba of Benin in order to have a successful conference.

He commended the Benin Monarch for a remarkable achievement since ascending the throne, adding that Resident Doctors in Nigeria were happy to be in Benin City because of its history and what Benin Kingdom stands for culturally.
