Viral Video Of Indecent Assault On Lady:Edo Police Parade 5 Suspects

Benin City – Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have paraded five male suspects involved in the shocking, barbaric and indecent assault meted out to a young Nigerian lady as shown in a video which went viral on social media recently.

In the video, the victim one Favour Ada was accused of stealing a phone by some men who striped naked and substance suspected to be pepper inserted in her virginal by one of the suspects as they shouted “where is the phone?.”

Edo State Commissioner of Police,  Hakeem Odumosu paraded the five suspects along with others at the police command headquarters in Benin City, today (Monday) February 11, 2019.

Those paraded in connection with the indecent assualt were Otoghile Joel, owner of the said missing phone, Lucky Igbinovia AKA ‘One-Man squad’, Edobor Osemwengie, Kingsley Iyamu, and Ekpomwen Friday.

The suspects who narrated their level of involvement in the crime, alleged the victim had stolen IPhone ‘X’ Max worths N400,000.

CP Odumosu warned citizens against taking laws into their hands even as he urged them to always report matters to security agencies.He said the suspects would be arraigned in court after the parade.

The Edo COMPOL said the command in the last 10-Days had made modest achievements in its effort to rid the state of crimes and criminality to make it safe for citizens.

Odumosu however disclosed that the command would deploy 12,000 personal for the forthcoming general elections in the state with support from sister security agencies.

The CP directed the mopping-up of policemen who are not on core duty in the state, such as, Escort duty, police orderlies, guard duties and others in view of the elections.

He stated that the directive is to enable the police adequately prepare, mobilize, and deploy officers and men of the command, which according to him is inline with the Force headquarters’  directive to commands to ensure protection of lives and properties before, during and after the polls.

He assured of the command’s readiness to deal with anyone or group that plans to disturb the exercise and the peace being enjoyed in the state.
