Police DIG Storms Edo Ahead Of Saturday Elections

Benin City – Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police in charge of Logistics and Supplies, Fredrick Taiwo Lakanu has been deployed to Edo State to ensure tactical execution of the Force’s operational strategies for Saturday February 16, 2019 general elections.

DIG Taiwo explained that he was in Edo State in compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Police that some of its Officers should go to various locations in the six geopolitical zones to “re-appraise, re-evaluate and re-assess the force’s operational strategy” for the polls.

He disclosed this to journalists at the police Officers Mess, GRA, Benin City on Thursday.

DIG Taiwo however assured that the police would be apolitical and fair to ensure credible, fair and free polls.

“I am affirming that we are going to be nonpartisan, non-align, we are going to ensure free, fair and credible elections to the satisfaction of everybody,” he stated.
