Edo New Head Of Service Ehiozuwa Tasks Perm Secs On Cooperation, Excellence

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]do State new Head of Service, Mr. Isaac Ehiozuwa, has tasked Permanent Secretaries in the state on cooperation and commitment to best practice to actualize the goal of reforming the state civil service.

He charged them to submit briefs on the activities of their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies, (MDAs) as well as the parastatals under their supervision to his office on or before Friday, November 30, 2018, to enable him get acquainted with the happenings in the MDAs.

Ehiozuwa who gave the directive during his first official meeting with Permanent Secretaries in his office at Government House, in Benin City on Thursday, explained that the expected briefs should contain staff appointments, promotions, distribution and general staff matters as well as the challenges of the MDAs.

He sued for their co-operation and support to enable him implement the desired reforms in the state civil service, noting that, his vision for Edo Civil Service is driven by excellence, proficiency and efficiency in service delivery by all civil servants. He enjoined them to join hands with him to make it work.

Ehiozuwa urged the permanent secretaries to freely suggest innovative ideas that would contribute to reforming and moving of the Edo Civil Service to the desired heights.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Godwim Obaseki for the confidence reposed in him to serve as Head of Service in the state.

Responding on behalf of the Permanent Secretaries, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development Permanent Secretary, Barr. Sam Oko-Ose, congratulated Ehiozuwa on his appointment as the new Head of Service.

He assured the HoS of their co-operation and support to bring Edo Civil Service to an enviable height, and promised that the permanent secretaries would summit their briefs as requested.
