[dropcap]I[/dropcap]mmediate past national Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has expressed his condolences with Benue, Rivers and Taraba State Governors over the recent senseless killings in their domains.

Senator Makarfi made the call through his media group, saying the federal government urgently needs to collaborate with the affected state governors and many other states with emerging pinpricks of Fulani herdsmen and farmers clashes so as to secure lasting peace.

“I condole with the Governors and people of Benue, Rivers and Taraba States over the unnecessary and avoidable loss of lives and properties in the respective States.

“I urge the Federal Government to fully work hand in hand with the respective States to apprehend, prosecute and punish the culprits, as well as restore full normalcy and security to the affected States.”All well-meaning Nigerians should help in fully securing every nook and cranny of our country,” Makarfi advised.

It would be recalled that Fulani herdsmen invaded Guma and Logo Local Governments and attacked Tomater village in Sengev Council Ward, Akor village in Nzorov Council Ward and Bakin Kwata village in Umanger Council Ward on new year day in Benue State, and extended similar orgy of killings to Taraba State two days later. Rivers State citizens were caught spontaneously in violent deaths the night preceding new year day.
