U.S. Ambassador To Nigeria Visits Benin IDP Camp

[dropcap]B[/dropcap]enin City, Nigeria – United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. W. Stuart Symington has visited the International Christian Center, housing the Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs) at Uhogua, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Receiving the US Ambassador at the IDP camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, expressed thanks to the US Ambassador and his team, for finding time out of their busy schedule to come and identity with the homeless and needy in the camp. He explained that, the visit was quite remarkable and thereby asked for possible assistance in area of needs, to meet with the teaming population in the camp.

Some areas of needs he explained include, the completion of the 5,000 sitting capacity worship auditorium, food items, school textbooks for pupils and students in the camp, drugs for the medical department and clothing. Responding, the US Ambassador W. Stuart Symington thanked Pastor Solomon Folorunsho for his love and passion for displased persons in Nigeria and beyond.

He also noted that, the Benin IDPs is one of the most peaceful IDPs in the West African region and further appealed to Godly spirited persons to assist the camp.

The Ambassador also inspected some facilities in the camp before his departure.
