Ogbemudia: Edo Govt Opens Condolence Register

Edo State Government has announced the opening of a condolence register at the Government House in Benin City for the late ex two-time Governor of the defunct Bendel State, now Edo State of Nigeria, Brigadier General (rtd) Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia.

A statement endorsed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Mr. John Mayaki said interested people in the state can send in their condolences on the passing on of the elder statesman.

Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki of Edo State had earlier declared seven days mourning for the death of the renowned political leader whose strong foundation in governance helped to consolidate the infrastructural, social and economic development of both Delta and Edo states, which comprised old Bendel State.

According to the statement, the register will be open from 8am to 4pm for seven days starting from today, March 10 at The Government House in Benin City as well as all the 18 local governments across the state.

Besides, the statement said the condolence register will remain open on Saturday and Sunday.

It would be recalled that the elder statesman passed on in the early hours of Friday, 10 March 2017 at the age of 84 years.
