Edo Governor-elect, Obaseki Promises Productive Economy

By Oladipo Airenakho

Benin City, Nigeria – Edo State Governor-elect, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has promised to build a State on productive economy that will transform the lives of citizens.

Obaseki made this promise in his first speech after being declared winner of the just concluded governorship poll by the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

This was a great historical moment, he said, for government and citizens of the state to build on the existing legacy of the outgoing All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki who did not forget to thank his benefactors, Governor Adams Oshiomhole and President Muhammadu Buhari for their immense contributions to his victory reiterated his commitment to carrying on their vision for the citizens.

He saluted all those who have contributed in one form or the other to his electoral victory, most especially the electorate whom, according to him, defied all the political antics of his opponents and came out to vote for him and his political party.

To them he had this to say, “a new future beacon.”

With a pledge to work for all, Obaseki called on all sons and daughters, home and abroad, to join him to build an economically strong Edo State.
