By Igbotako Nowinta, Alltimepost.com Nigerian Bureau Chief

Religious leaders and all workers in the vineyard of God have been tasked to throw their weight behind the anti -corruption war being waged by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Pastor Samson Adeniran of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Kings Parish, made the call recently during a media chat as part of activities to mark a special Super Sunday Service organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God Shekinah Glory Zonal Headquarters in Benin City, Edo State.

Pastor Adeniran said that God wanted his children to be firebrand for the gospel that will expose believers to exploit for the Lord.

He said Nigeria was in a sorry state today because a small band of evil people decided to embark on sinful acts in the name of corruption

The lecturer cum clergyman urged President Buhari to stand firm in his fight against corruption.

“This corruption war must never be sentimentalized, politicized or tribalized. All sectors must be galvanized, shaken and touched in order to sanitize the country once and for all.”

Therefore, he said, Pastors and all Christians must continue to pray for the President and all leaders in this category in the polity’’

He emphasized the need for the truth to be told always; that in spite of the glaring challenges confronting Nigerians today believers must strive to live above board by being custodians of the light.

Pastor Adeniran stressed the need for Christians to support the government with daily prayers “because God hates lukewarmness as God himself rides on chariots of fire.”

The Pastor-in-charge of RCCG Shekinah Glory Zonal Headquarters, Frank Amegor said that the Special Super Sunday service will continue to be held periodically in the zone as a wakeup call to members to spice up their spiritual lives and on the need for them to be responsible citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
