The initiative followed the visit by CONGOS president Comrade Jude Obasanmi to ANEEJ secretariat in Benin City to fine-tune plans by NGOs to work together to create a platform that will attract both local and external observers around the world who seek to monitor the election process and outcome.

“The advantage of the collaboration is that we will be able to come out with statements, analyses and reports of the elections, and organize joint press conference to address the international community about the outcome of the 2015 General Election.

We will also rely on the civil society platform to generate post-election reports that will express the feelings and aspirations of the electorates with regards to the outcome of the election,” ANEEJ executive director, David Ugolor said.

The initiative seeks to coordinate social media instruments like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and key ANEEJ boots that will be on ground monitoring all relevant media so as to enable Nigerians contribute, generate and obtain very credible information about the March 28 and April 11 General Elections.

“This is a welcome development that is expected to create the needed opportunity for electorates and other stake holders to key into and contribute their quota on a media platform anchored by the joint organizers,” Comrade Obasanmi said, following the meeting.
