Jega should Hide His Face In Shame – Njiko Igbo Forum

A South-East group, Njiko Igbo Forum (NIF), on Saturday slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC over what it called shabby preparations ahead of the general elections.

The group in statement signed by its President, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha said Jega and all the members of the electoral commission should “hide their faces in shame and apologize to Nigerians for their inability to conduct a credible, free and fair election in the Nigerian 2015 general elections that four years notice was given to them.

“It is shocking and surprising at this eleventh hour of this talked about and much expected 2015 general election since four years, Prof Jega and his inefficient management wants us to believe that they are ready when many registered voters do not know where and when to collect their PVCs, not to talk of those who are eighteen years that are not yet registered.

“We call on International Criminal Court to be ready to have Prof Jega first and all his management team prosecuted from the reaction, crisis and mayhem that will result from the confusion INEC will be imposing on the Nigerian electoral process and our hard earned democracy”.

The socio-political organization further queried: “Why is Prof Jega insisting that he is ready for the election when a child in the Kindergarten knows that he is not ready, or may be he thinks that the movement of traffic from the North to the South (Igbos with large votes in the north) for fear are ‘electable’ Igbos? No! These are families being sent home for fear of insecurity and to avoid what happens during the pogrom.

“We have assured all ‘electable’ Igbos to remain where they registered in the North and vote Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The security agencies are ready to protect them, but in addition, they are ready to defend themselves if need be. The way and manner strategically they know now.

Be reminded that we held the whole of Nigeria for three and half years without any external assistance and or arms and ammunition. Nigeria must be one. No one is leaving! Nigeria will also remain a circular state. After all, we were forced and provoked to leave Nigeria (Biafra) and the rest of Nigeria refused. Nobody will leave! We are eternally bound!!

“Njiko Igbo Forum wants to commend the Chief of Defence Staff for the recent military pact signed with the Chadian Government to fight and root out insuurgency in our land. We also commend the 7,000 troops being sent down by the AU. Indeed Boko Haram end is insight.

“We insist that every electable Onyeigbo should vote Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as he is the only person among the two major political gladiators that believes and will work through the restructuring of Nigeria and will also work with the 8th National Assembly to implement the report of the National Conference.

“Be aware Nigerians and particularly Ndigbo, that ‘Onyeigbo’ will become President of Nigeria come 2019. No More! No Less!”(Daily Post)
