Lynn  – By Alltimepost.com –

What started as a resolve to preserve her mom’s humanitarian legacy has today turned into a formidable non-profit organization, Known as Haitian Action Orphans Mission, Incorporated, serving several orphans who would have otherwise remained or become destitute  or even died.

Today, Marie Jean-Louis looks back with pride and sense of fulfillment that, the resolve and vision to continue this humanitarian mission have come to reality and she is now telling a success story, with every cause to celebrate.

The organization of which she is the Executive Director celebrated its four years anniversary and fundraiser event recently at the Franco American War Veterans hall on Western Avenue in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Marie told Alltimepost.com that what they celebrate today grew out of the seed sown by her late mom in 1974 when she started a charity to cater for orphans in Haiti, describing her as a very loving and compassionate person.

According her, “mom continued her humanitarian mission until she passed away in 2011, one year after the earthquake” of 2010 that unleashed a catastrophe of an unimaginable proportion on the Caribbean nation.

“The dream must not die,” her sister, Marie Denise sang that to her ears, according to Marie Jean-Louis.

Consequently, she went into action and started consultation on how to proceed to keep this fire of love and compassion burning.

She contacted a humanitarian, Robert Fioccoprile, now the Executive Advisor of the organization. With his help, Marie was able to get things rolling to the extent of securing a 501 c status.

Besides, she said they encourage and assist teens with higher education and life coaching, leadership skills, community building and organization; provide social activities and classes in spiritual guidance.

According to her, the organization has been able to provide 25 orphaned and needy children living on the street of Haiti with housing and 24-hour supervised care in 2014, with the goal to double this in 2015.

“There are thousands of children in Haiti that need immediate care,” she stated, adding that the organization is driving for $100,000.00 funding.
