Enabulele Chairs EDHA Art, Culture & Tourism Committee, Vows To Prioritize Sector

Honorable Destiny Enabulele Representing Ovia South West Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly is the new Chairman of the House Committee on Art, Culture, and Tourism.

His committee was inaugurated by the Speaker, Edo State House Of Assembly, Rt Hon. Agbebaku Blessing Sheriff on Monday shortly after plenary.

In his remarks, Hon Enabulele said he will alongside members of the committee prioritize working closely with the ministry to build policies and programs of the government by implementing them through diversification into the areas of arts, culture, and tourism

He mentioned a few of the historical sites including Arhuan history in Udo, Philips grave, Iyoba statue, and the Ososo sites in Akoko Edo that are now moribund historical monuments and sites that will be transformed to ensure resources are generated for optimum delivery of the dividends of democracy.

Enabulele said Edo being a cradle of black civilization, there is a need to harness areas of opportunities and put it on the world map for future records.

He decried the decline in the availability of resources from the Federal Government adding that with the recent move, he was quite sure there will be a sigh of relief when most of the assets are harnessed.

On her part, the Commissioner for Art, Culture, and Tourism, Edo State, Dr. Uyi Oduwa Malaka, pledged the ministry’s commitment to the committee to execute policies that will attract investors.

The Commissioner said Art, Culture, and Tourism have a key role to play in the state’s development.

Other members of the committee include Hon. Omosigho Uyi Frank, representing Oredo East, Hon Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan, representing, Esan West Constituency, Hon Eigiruemolen Fada Sunday, representing Esan Central, and Hon Oshomah Ahmed, representing Etsako Central Constituencies.
