[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has condemned what it called the neglect and increment in fees of Ambrose Ali University (AAU) by the State Government.

The state chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, during his party’s meet the people tour 2018 of Esan West Local Government Area recently lashed out at the Obaseki administration, saying such act only shows the marginalization of the people of the constituency and a calculated attempt to relegate them to second class citizens in the state.

He regretted that whereas Edo University Iyamoh has received up to N18b in the last three years, AAU has received less than 5% of that.

He went further to query the status of the university in Iyamoh and the “amorous relationship” it has with Afri-Invest, a company allegedly owned by the then Chairman of the state economic team and now governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Chief Orbih described, as alarming the state of roads in Ekpoma and condemned the decision to stop work on some of the roads because of a purported contract padding allegation.

He advised Gov. Obaseki to look inwards and not punish the good people of Ekpoma for an in-house scam allegedly executed by former governor Adams Oshiomhole.

The PDP Chairman led members of the state executive and other party chieftains to Ekpoma where he addressed party faithfuls on some of the development in the party and the State.

Chief Orbih who sympathized with the people on the poor presence of government infrastructure in the local government assured that when PDP takes over power in Edo State and Nigeria, the people will have course to smile again.

He said the PDP was determined to improve the lives of Edo citizens hence the need for the people to show more support to ensure victory for the party in the next general election in 2019.

On his part, the PDP governorship candidate in the last election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu thanked the people for the support shown him as he advised all aggrieved parties to shield their swords and work together for the benefit of Nigerians who are determined to vote out APC, “a serial promise breaker that cannot be trusted.”

Pastor Ize Iyamu likened the ascendancy of APC to governance to the man (Nigerian) who married a second wife (APC) because they said his first wife (PDP) was not pretty enough. After marriage to ” the beautiful” new wife, the husband discovered that his new bride is a bed wetter, lies, steals and cannot cook!

He appealed to party members to be open to receive people who though were members but decamped to APC. Many of them are on their way back, he revealed.

He emphasized that the next election was bigger than PDP Vs APC. “It’s about NIGERIANS Vs APC,” quoting Chief Blessing Agbohmere whom he said: warned, and rightly too, that “if Nigerians don’t kill APC, APC will kill Nigeria.”
