Edo PDP Calls Attention To Security Issues, Voters Registration, Others

Opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, on Tuesday used its recent ‘Meet the People Tour 2018’ to draw attention to security and other issues it considers critical to the wellfare of the people.

In a communique signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Chris Osa Nehikhare, the party declared:

The Edo State PDP at its ‘Meet The People Tour 2018′ that commenced on Monday 29 January 2018 visited two local government area headquarters, Igarra in Akoko Edo and Auchi in Estako West.

Our party was very well recieved by both party members and non members alike in both Local government areas.

Many issues were raised for discussion.

1. Ongoing Continuous Voters Registration

2. 3Rs… Reconciliation, Reorganisation and Rededication

3. Court Cases against EDSIEC and EDHA on the illfated Laocal government council polls.

4. Activities of herdsmen and Fulani Militia.

This communique will only address item 4! as it is a matter that requires urgent attention. In view of the fact that 400 to 500 million naira is withdrawn monthly as security votes. The fact that the security agencies in the state are not equipped, not motivated and not involved in the disbursement of the security vote is reason for concern.

After exhaustive discussion and analysis, the people mandated Chief Dan Osi Orbih and PDP to demand for the position of EDSG as it concerns Herdsmen, cattle colony and Fulani Militia.

END of Communique.

Good morning Edo State, Good Morning Nigeria.

Delta State has said they don’t have land for cattle colony.

Rivers State has said they don’t have land for cattle colony.

Cross Rivers State as well as Akwa Ibom State has said the same thing, ” we don’t have land for cattle colony”.

Benue, Taraba and even Plateau(advice giver) have come out boldly to say they don’t have land for cattle colony.

Ekiti State was one of the first to enact an anti grazing law because of the incessant attacks on its citizens.

Many other states both APC controlled and PDP governed have come out openly to condemn the activities of the fulani Militia masquerading as herdsmen.

In Edo, what we have is a deafening silence from governor Obaseki.

What is Governor Obasekis’ position on herdsmen, cattle colony and Fulani Militia raping, killing and maiming our people?

We challenge Governor Obaseki to state his position!

The tour continues!

Edo people’s welfare is our driving spirit.

PDP…listening to the cries of Edo people
