Don’t Move LGA Hqrs To Warake, Chief Orbih Warns APC, Edo Govt

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]do State-ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the government have been warned not to remove Afuze as administrative headquarters of Owan East Local Government.

The state Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Osi Orbih gave the warning on Wednesday in Afuze at the 5th stop of the Meet the People Tour 2018 of Owan East Local Government.

“This has become imperative as APC conducted its purported council chairmanship primaries in Warake. The one that was conducted in Afuze was rejected,” he said.

According to him, this warning is important as in the past, ex Gov Oshiomhole promised to bring a university to Owan East during one of his campaigns, but when it was time to establish a university, he and Gov. Obaseki relocated it to Oshiomhole’s backyard in Iyamoh.

“With the establishment of that University, ex Gov. Oshiomhole appointed Afri Invest as its preferred partner to manage the university.

“It will interest you to know that the only qualification Afri Invest could boast of is that it is Obaseki’s company. It has no track record of even managing ‘garri school.’

“Godwin Obaseki must declare equity contribution of Afri Invest in Edo University, as it smacks of conflict of interest and smells of fraud and corruption,” he said.
