End SARS For Human Rights Sake!

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]en of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, intimidate, harass and brutalize innocent citizens without cause. Therefore, the IG may want to scrap or modify it in the interest of Nigerians and of their rights.

In the interest of society, the IG and indeed the police must understand that its primary responsibility is to protect human lives and uphold their dignity, rather than claim any. Security agencies should focus more on internal discipline of its men and emphasize diligence in dispensing their duty.

While we appreciate the effort of the police to reduce crime to the minimum in our society, it must identify with the global call for the respect and protection of human dignity.
