President Buhari was given the Chieftaincy title of Ochioma Ndigbo (Leader of All Igboland) by all the South East Traditional Rulers and another title of Enyi Oma (foremost good friend) of Ebonyi by the Ebonyi State Traditional Rulers.
On behalf of all friends of President Buhari worldwide, I commend the entire Ibo community particularly their Governors and traditional rulers for successfully freeing themselves from the negative influence of the corrupt Ibos who hate President Buhari, not for any wrong done, but for his fierce fight against corruption.
No Nigerian Leader, dead or alive, has demonstrated so much love for the Ibos as President Buhari who on two consecutive election seasons chose two eminent sons of Iboland as his running mate.
In 2003, he picked the late Senator Chuba Okadigbo. Even when the Ibos refused to vote for him and Senator Okadigbo, he again picked the late Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke as his running mate in 2007.
Yet, the Ibos rejected him so much that only three persons voted for him in Umeh-Ezeoke’s village. That President Buhari didn’t win those elections for either Senator Okadigbo or Chief Umeh-Ezeoke to become Vice President was the fault of the Ibos who refused to vote for them.
President Buhari has not only loved the Ibos, he has frankly and frantically courted their friendship which he has finally and traditionally gotten during his last visit.
Even in his less than three years so far as President, he has shown more commitment to the development of lbo land than any previous administration even when the Ibos didn’t vote for him.
The gallant entry of Emeka Ojukwu Jnr into APC is a confirmation of the political rebirth of the Ibo nation and their u-turn to progressive politics. We trust that both the President and the party’s national leadership will absorb Ojukwu Jnr into the mainstream of the Federal Government and our ruling party.
Nigerians should join us the friends of Buhari to pray God to bless all the Ibo leaders who accorded our ever stainless President these twin honors. We urged all patriotic Ibos to henceforth support President Buhari in his efforts at recovering the plundered wealth of Nigeria and bringing the plunderers to judgment.
Above all, patriotic Ibo leaders should join other well-meaning Nigerians to persuade President Buhari to re-contest for the Presidency in 2019 as God has miraculously and manifestly renewed his strength, body and soul for the great service.
