A CARING HEART FOR THE NEEDY AND THE HOPELESS

By Igbotako Nowinta –

There is no denying the fact that the terrible state of Nigeria today, occasioned by corruption in high places, skyrocketing inflation; insecurity, arising from Boko Haram terrorist activities, kidnapping, excruciating poverty in the midst of fabulous affluence for a tiny minority have turned the hearts of many citizens into stones.

Also, even in the midst of churches almost everywhere, where many religious leaders and bodies have simply turned their gospel mainly into miracles and prosperity, the practice of the true love of God by many is hardly in evidence.

Ophanage Visit

However, my visit to a religious outfit called The Resurrected Jesus Ministry A.K.A All Power Chapel on Lagos Street, area of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, recently provided a lot of hope and comfort that the love of God is still practically alive.

It is a religious outreach absolutely dedicated to preaching and teaching salvation and love messages to the whole world.

The ministry’s objective is to transform and perfect the world with love. According to the book of Colossians 3:14, which states that: “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfection”.

Reverend Charles Osamudiamen Aigbe, the Spiritual Head of the ministry is simply practicalizing the concept of ancient landmark which has been handed over to mankind since the days of old.

What is the ancient landmark? The ancient landmark is nothing but the mandate by the lord that: “out of your income you are to take care of the poor and the needy

In a chat with Alltimepost.com, Reverend Charles Aigbe who has spent 15 years in the vineyard of God almighty and received the calling of God at the age of 19, had this to say: “The Ancient Landmark are the rules or principles of life established long ago in the land by God through our fathers of faith to guide us in the land… God is giving to us all in other to succeed or prosper in the land

That is to say explicitly, he said, that when people give to the poor according to biblical injunctions they are indirectly giving to the Lord and they will be  rewarded accordingly, as evil will be far away from those that obey the word of God.

In all history the poor, the needy, the orphans, widows, prisoners, the sick etc have been living with the rich and it is their right to be catered for, according to Rev. Charles Aigbe.

In the words of Rev. Aigbe: “You have   been mandated by Lord that out of your income daily, monthly, you are to take care of them all,   failure to do this, you are depriving them of their rights”.

Therefore, the Resurrected Jesus Ministry sends its disciples on humanitarian missions daily and visits orphanages regularly to distribute various gifts items and also preach the word of God.

In a society, such as ours where some people have placed it upon themselves to sanitize Edo State in particular and Nigeria in general and teach on the need for people to support and care for the needy, it is normal as common sense dictates that such religious outfit should be greatly encouraged in every way possible by government, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and kind-spirited individuals that are financially comfortable.

In a nutshell, if we all choose to lend a helping hand to the less privileged and cultivate the spirit of charity like what Rev.

Aigbe and his disciples are doing, definitely acrimony, tension, hatred, general insecurity etc will be reduced in the land.
